Our pupils deserve more than a placement. They deserve a school built around belonging.
LCE Academy is a specialist SEMH school for young people who need more than a mainstream classroom can offer. Small groups, therapeutic support and high expectations help every pupil re-engage and move on with confidence.
About LCE AcademyFind your way around
Everything families, schools and local authorities ask about, in one place.
Behaviour is understood as communication
Why LCE Academy is different
We prioritise connection over control. Staff are trained in trauma-informed practice, so they respond with curiosity, consistency and compassion.
A carefully sequenced curriculum combines strong subject teaching with therapeutic principles, social development and purposeful pathways into adulthood.
Our values are not posters on walls. They guide our decisions, our teaching and how we help pupils rebuild confidence and ambition.
We work hand in hand with Life Changing Education, drawing on deep experience in SEMH and alternative provision for early intervention and bespoke support plans.
Whether that is a return to mainstream, a specialist route or further education and employment, every pupil leaves with skills, qualifications and belief.
Hear from our leaders
The people leading LCE Academy, in their own words.
Relationships come first here. When pupils know they are safe and that someone believes in them, the learning follows, and so does their confidence.
Sam GrayHeadteacherNo two pupils are the same, so no two support plans are either. My role is to make sure every young person has the right help, at the right time, to feel safe and thrive.
Lindsey DrewsAssistant Headteacher and SENDCoA great curriculum meets pupils where they are and takes them further than they thought possible. We plan every lesson with high expectations.
David JealDeputy Headteacher and Curriculum LeadLCE Academy was built for the young people that mainstream settings haven't been able to reach. Every decision starts with one question: what does this pupil need to succeed?
