SEND provision is tailored to individual needs, strengths and stages of development to ensure appropriate challenge and meaningful progress.
Pupils with SEND are supported academically, emotionally and socially to remove barriers to learning and promote long-term success.
Support for pupils with SEND is built on strong, trusting relationships that help pupils feel safe, regulated and ready to learn.
We are a specialist provision supporting pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs, many of whom also have additional special educational needs and disabilities. We recognise that pupils’ needs are often complex, overlapping and change over time. Our SEND approach is grounded in a trauma-informed, relational model, ensuring pupils feel safe, understood and supported to engage in learning. SEND provision is not separate from school life. It is embedded across curriculum, behaviour, safeguarding and pastoral systems.
Pupils’ needs are identified through a combination of:
Information from previous settings and professionals is used to inform planning and support.
Upon entry, students are assessed to identify their special educational needs and inform personalised support.
Ongoing observation and assessment from LCE staff.
Constant communication with the pupil and their family.
We follow a graduated response to SEND support in line with national guidance. This process is continuous and responsive rather than time-limited.

We work in close partnership with families and a range of external professionals to ensure pupils receive consistent, well-coordinated support. Information is shared appropriately and in line with safeguarding and data protection requirements, enabling informed planning, review and decision-making.
This collaborative approach ensures that support is joined-up, timely and responsive to each pupil’s needs. Working together allows strategies to be aligned across home, school and external services, promoting stability, progress and positive outcomes for every learner.
