Assessment at LCE Academy is a carefully planned, ongoing process that places each pupil’s individual journey at the heart of learning and development. It begins with the collection of comprehensive baseline information to establish clear starting points, identify strengths, and understand specific needs. This is followed by continuous assessment through observation, structured review, and regular reflection, ensuring that provision remains responsive, purposeful, and tailored to each learner. Assessment outcomes are used to adapt teaching approaches, interventions, and support strategies in a timely and effective way.
Progress is measured across three equally valued areas: academic progress, personal development, and emotional regulation, recognising that achievement extends beyond academic outcomes alone. This holistic approach enables staff to track growth in learning, independence, confidence, and emotional wellbeing. Assessment information is shared transparently with pupils, families, and relevant professionals, promoting collaboration, consistency, and shared understanding. Through this inclusive and reflective approach, LCE Academy ensures that assessment supports sustained progress, positive outcomes, and long-term success for every pupil.
