Personal Development, PSHE & SEMH Provision

PSHE & RE
Our weekly timetabled personal development provision ensures that all pupils receive consistent, high-quality learning in relationships, health, online safety, citizenship, and British values. Delivered in line with statutory guidance, the programme supports pupils in developing the knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed to navigate modern life safely and responsibly. Lessons are thoughtfully adapted to meet individual needs, ensuring content is accessible, relevant, and inclusive for every learner. Through open discussion, practical scenarios, and reflective learning, pupils are empowered to make informed choices, build positive relationships, and become respectful, active members of society.

Life skills & Independence
Our Life Skills and Independence programme equips pupils with the practical knowledge and confidence needed to manage everyday life and prepare for adulthood. Students develop essential skills such as money management, travel training, self-care, and establishing healthy routines that support independence. As pupils progress, they are guided through key employability skills including completing job applications, preparing for interviews, and understanding appropriate workplace behaviours. Independence is carefully developed in line with each pupil’s stage and needs, with expectations increasing as students move through the tiers, ensuring steady, meaningful progression towards confident and independent living.

Message from our staff

A small message from each staff member

Sam Gray Headteacher

LCE Academy is built on the belief that every young person deserves a school where they feel safe, understood and inspired to grow. We are proud to be creating a genuinely transformative SEMH provision for our community, driven by relationships, shaped by compassion and committed to changing futures.

Krystian Liptrot Proprietor

Life Changing Education was created from a belief that every young person deserves more than just access to education - they deserve opportunity, dignity and a future they can believe in. Our work is about removing barriers, raising aspiration and creating pathways where pupils can truly flourish.

David Jeal Deputy Headteacher

Education should be a place where young people feel understood before they are judged, and supported before they are challenged. Every learning pathway should be thoughtfully designed to build confidence, curiosity and real-world readiness. When curriculum is inclusive, it gives every child the opportunity to succeed.

Lindsey Drews Assistant Headteacher

Inclusion is at the heart of everything I do. Through strong relationships, high expectations and personalised support, I work to ensure that every pupil, particularly those who have found education challenging, is given the structure, care and opportunity they need to re-engage with learning and thrive.
