LCE Academy: A Values-Led SEMH School for Real Change

LCE Academy is a new independent school created to meet the needs of children and young people with significant social, emotional and mental health needs across Oldham and the surrounding areas. Our pupils deserve more than a placement. They deserve a school built around belonging, safety and ambitious futures. LCE Academy has been designed from the ground up to provide exactly that.

Why LCE Academy is Different

We understand behaviour as communication, and we prioritise connection over control. Our staff are trained in trauma-informed practice, enabling them to respond with curiosity, consistency and compassion.

Pupils follow a carefully sequenced curriculum built around their starting points. We combine strong subject teaching with therapeutic principles, social development and purposeful pathways into adulthood.

Resilience, Integrity and Respect shape every interaction. These are not posters on walls. They guide our decisions, our teaching and the way we support pupils to rebuild confidence and ambition.

We work hand-in-hand with Life Changing Education, drawing on deep experience in SEMH and Alternative Provision. Our approach ensures early intervention, high levels of communication and bespoke support plans for every young person.

Our focus is on giving pupils the skills, qualifications and belief they need to succeed beyond school. Whether that is a return to mainstream, a specialist route or transition into further education and employment, progress is always planned and purposeful.
